With these hands, my head, my heart, and my extensions of camera and lenses I thank each of my clients and followers who have helped make 2017 a year of hard work and play, inspiration, success, growth, and discovery.
I've often been asked why I do this "Photo of the Day." It certainly doesn't pay the mortgage or the bills, but it's been a way of consistently challenging myself throughout the year. I started this back in 2013 and the series, with this post, is now on its 1,667th day. Believe me there are days that I feel it's a burden and wish that I could let it go, but more often than not it's something I love. It's been a way to continually challenge myself, grow, and document new concepts I'm exploring along my photographic journey. Sometimes it reflects some new education I pursued (my high school English teacher Mrs. Mary Anne Zak instilled in me a life-long passion for learning), maybe a conference or workshop I attended, and in many cases the influence of photographers I've gotten to know in real life, over the Web, or in books and periodicals. The Photo of the Day is my visual diary, and like a written one, what's most exciting is that I have little more idea than the audience where it's going. And it is so much fun after some time, to go back and read what was written - in this case written in light.
So thank you for being here to see it. Thanks to those who make the effort to give me feedback daily (or from time to time) with likes and comments. Thank you to those who have posed for me while I was working out some new lighting idea or other concept. Thank you so much to those who purchased any of my fine art prints in 2017 to decorate your home or business, or those who hired me to shoot for the promotion of your business or yourself, or to document your family - after all, the mortgage doesn't get paid on "likes" - so I literally couldn't live, never mind run a Photo of the Day, without you, my clients.
And my biggest thanks goes to my beautiful bride Jennifer Brewer Remington who supports me through this all as my biggest fan, cheerleader, and motivator! None of this would be possible without you. I love you Hon!
Happy New Year everyone! Wishing each of you an incredible 2018! I can't wait to see what's coming!
