2017/362. "How Christmas Flies"
It's Throwback Thursday and today I'm flying into Austin, Texas, to celebrate Christmas Part 2 with my wife's side of the family. Our niece Elizabeth, who was featured as an elf in yesterday's Photo of the Day, was eager to assist me in photographing this back in 2014. What you're looking at is the air traffic control tower which is what remains of Robert Mueller Municipal Airport, Austin's first civilian airport, operating from 1930 to 1999. It was replaced as Austin's main airport by Austin Bergstrom International Airport. Until recently my family out there lived in the neighborhood that was built in the area that was formerly the airport. Each year it is decorated with the "Noel" lights for Christmas.
Merry Christmas Part 2!
