A few weeks ago while location scouting in Leesburg's Morven Park around sunset, this flash of vibrant blue caught my eye. It was so unusual and unexpected for all of the other earth tones I'd been seeing, I immediately wondered what it was. It happens that there was a pool with fountains on the other side of this row of trees and bushes along which I was walking. When I knelt down to see that, I was taken by the simple beauty of the backlighting on the grass and on these shrubs. There's no subject here in the traditional sense, just my delight in vibrant blue, green, and yellow, combined with a delightful quality and angle of light produced by the last few minutes of daylight.
