Whether worn over a T-shirt or under a sweater, a broken-in flannel style is the perfect layer for fall.
Shirts made from flannel are perennial fall favorites, and it’s no surprise why: They’re warm, easy to wear and completely comfortable, (and durable to boot). This season’s versions feature plaid patterns in sun-faded colors that complement the worn-in feel of the fabric, creating styles perfect for wearing during the transition into the cooler months.
Consider the flannel shirt your dependable autumn layering piece. Pair one with a short while it’s still warm enough out, then try it with a T-shirt and jean when the temperature starts to drop. And just because flannel is associated with more rugged styles doesn’t mean you can’t dress it up. When worn with a chino and a solid knit tie, it gives a cool, rustic twist to a traditional look.
