Hugh Marston Hefner was an American magazine publisher, editor, businessman, and playboy. He was best known as the editor-in-chief and publisher of Playboy magazine, which he founded in 1953.
After serving in the U.S. Army and attending college, Hefner got the idea for Playboy while workingin the publishing industry. He put himp his furniture as collateral against a loan and borrowed the rest from family and friends to publish the very first issue of Playboy in December 1953 which featured a nude Marilyn Monroe. The same year, Hefner launched media and lifestyle company Playboy Enterprises, Inc., on which he served as a board member until the time of his death.
Liz Ashley is one of two models with whom I've worked who have graced the pages of Playboy. As such I thought it appropriate to pay tribute to this American cultural icon with her image.
Rest in Peace Hugh Hefner.
